I learned that the meat of the coconut is usually referred to as fruit, and the coconut itself is the nut, or seed.

  18. I follow Mark it with a B on Google Friend Connect. I learned the there is a way of obtaining coconut oil by grating the fresh coconut and then allowing the coconut milk to stand in a covered container for about 24 hours. After about 24 hours, the oil will naturally separate from the water which produces a crystal clear oil that retains the full scent and taste of coconuts.
